CNN: We're not allowed to comment on dead civilians
"I'm sorry I've forgotten who the anchorman was, but he was (live on the air) on the phone with a Lebanese-American woman (a citizen of the United States) who has been trapped in Lebanon while visiting her family. I believe her name was Sara Ahmadia. The anchorman was asking her various questions about conditions over there and the safety of Americans in Lebanon. She said that there was one thing she wanted to say on the air before her time was up, and the anchorman listened intently for a moment. She then addressed the fact that the vast majority of those killed in Lebanon have been not Hezbollah or military personnel, but innocent civilians who have absolutely no ties to Hezbollah whatsoever.
The anchorman said something to the effect of "we're not allowed to comment on that" and then cut her off."
"Uuuuugggghhhh, that just made me so angry. I know they aren't allowed to comment regarding their own opinions (*COUGH* Fox News *COUGH*!) but it's like the American media won't even address the fact that civilians (on both sides) are being killed and focuses all its energy on Hezbollah.
...I get even MORE of this being that I live in Westchester County, right outside of New York City.

"It is the spirit and not the form of law that keeps justice alive."

I mean civilians will continue to die no matter what. People die out of hunger, car crashes, heat, floods, tsunami's etc. How does one punish people who commit when they choose to hide among the innocent ? Do we forever restrain ourselves no matter the provocation so that we may spare a few lives and in the end spread the message that people can get away with commiting henious crimes ?? Sure innocent people are dying and that is unjust but its just as unjust as letting the guilty go unpunished.

Riwka, no I can't see the pictures. The link you added worked fine. Can everyone else see the pictures posted in Riwka's post?

IAF I agree with your reasoning, but at what point does the unjust killing of civilians stop? Would it be different if it was a US city being bombed?

Yup, I can see the pics, I wonder if its blocking your IP?

Clear your cache, and see if it works :)
