What on earth is this rock made out of, and why is it so darn expensive?
Although it strikes an uncanny resemblance to a fish, it is actually a natural stone (in its unaltered state) recovered from the bottom of a dried up
lake at Xinjiang, Tianshan (Southern part), China. It measures 72.8 cm in length, 33 cm in height and weighs 20 kg. According to the experts, it is
valued at approximately US $13.36 million. The rare 'fish' is currently on display in Beijing and has attracted many stone collectors.
