Dragons Den and Lings cars BBC at its best

Dragons Den is a BBC program - originally - that has 5 "real" rich people (the dragons) and one sucker who comes in to pitch for money. The person presents their business proposal and the dragons pull it to bits and decide if they will supply the amount requested.

Its a great program, so many wacky inventions and ideas.

Apparently one person has gained notoriety from the program. Although its yet to be seen where I live, it created some interesting feedback in England.

That episode is about Lings Cars. What I find interesting is not just the pitch for money by Ling, but her explanation of what happens behind the scenes.

As I suspected the 10 minute presentation we see on TV is merely well editied from, in Lings case, 3 1/2 hours of recording.

Here is a blog entry by another person talking about the episode, in which Ling responds telling us the background to the televised program.

What suprised me was the thoroughness of the BBC in building the show, She was first on after Top Gear, a famous car show, to hold the car loving viewers. So the structure of Dragons den was dictated by the preceding program.

I enjoyed reading about her webdesign ideas. At first the website appeared messy and cluttered, but her philosophy of "organic websites " is really good.
