Construction of the worlds highest bridge

This bridge is amazing, like something out of a science fiction story, You wouldn't want to suffer from vertigo when driving across it.

The Millau bridge over the River Tarn in the Massif Central mountains is more than 300m (984ft) high - taller even than the Eiffel Tower. With its concrete and steel pillars soaring high above the morning fog in the Tarn Valley, the construction makes a spectacular sight.

Read some more about this bridge, built and designed by the same people who did the Eiffel tower! Looking at the construction one can only wonder, how much money was spent on this project. Its not like the bridge is very long or building it was even necessary.

When the clouds are not present you can see that it is an easy valley that one could just run a highway through, but to build a bridge, is well.. extravagance. Especially such a bridge.
