U.S. prepares for strike against Iran after Germany puts economy ahead of peace.

It seems that the administration is about fed up with the Iranian regime killing our troops in Iraq. It's about time. Battle plans are being drafted, the best options available are being pondered, and our "allies" are showing their true colors and what they deem more important than a safer world.

Germany has made it clear that the Merkel administration is not willing to go along with any stricter sanctions against Iran as Chancellor Merkel is afraid that such restrictions will hurt the German economy (that is to say, our "ally" is economically tied to the enemy of freedom, democracy and any concept of a non-Islamic life or future with Israel). Yet, if we decide to shoulder the financial burden, along with all risks associated with attacking a nation ruled by a psychotic bunch like the Guardian Council, they will secretly approve of such action if though they will publicly protest.
Makes sense, right? They aren't willing to go along with anymore sanctions, aren't willing to lift a finger to do a thing about the Iranian threat to peace, stability and a non-Sharia life, but even though they will publicly gouge our eyeballs out in the public arena they will secretly be gratefull we did it.

The Germans voiced concern about the damaging effects any further sanctions on Iran would have on the German economy and also, according to diplomats from other countries, gave the distinct impression that they would privately welcome, while publicly protesting, an American bombing campaign against Iran's nuclear facilities.

Apparently there are several other nations that are going to be prepared to secretly pat us on the back while publicly denouncing us as aggressive, empire-building, fascists who take candy from babies. Gee, seems like a win-win proposal for all the lilly-livered cowards who love to hide behind American coat-tails while chewing on Uncle Sam's ankles like some little yapping nuisance dog.

Consequently, according to a well-placed Bush administration source, "everyone in town" is now participating in a broad discussion about the costs and benefits of military action against Iran, with the likely timeframe for any such course of action being over the next eight to 10 months, after the presidential primaries have probably been decided, but well before the November 2008 elections.

You just gotta love that. Something as critical as taking out the nuclear capability of an insane and dangerous regime like the Islamic Republic of Iran is to be timed according to politics. Remember the build-up to the Iraq invasion? Remember how Hussein was given all the time in the world to remove any evidence of special weapons? Remember the convoys leaving Iraq and entering Syria? Think of this kind of like that but a little different. This time we are giving a foe that is far more formidable the time to militarily prepare. They have months to purchase more Russian ADA hardware to use against our warplanes.

I remember the good old days of Reagan. He didn't bother with a bunch of pre-strike noise, he got the job done. Whether it was taking Grenada back from the commies or giving Quaddafi reason to sprint through the desert in women's clothing, you found out about it AFTER the attack was in progress.

I miss Ronnie. There'll never be another one like him.

Let the media saturation begin.

This has to be the longest most public build up to war I have ever seen. Its been advertised for well over a year now. Its getting embarrassing looking back over last years posts and seeing the exact same words and ideas then as now.

Ships come and ships go and everyone gets all excited, but nothing happens.

Are we just in the middle of a massive bluff to scare the Iranians? If so its not working, and starting to backfire. The Iranians are getting more beligerent by the day having reached the conclusion that the US is all mouth and no action.

The US is getting as bad as the UN for all talk and no action.

The longer the wait the better they will be dug in and the harder to achieve any succeses.

.

Its about time the situation moved on...
