Pablo Picassos painting recovered in Brazil

What is missing from the article is the strange event of someone stealing a painting of an ugly person. This woman is no Mona Lisa! Why did they steal it, and why did the museum want it back?

Members of the Sao Paulo Police stand next to the paintings 'El retrato de Suzanne Bloch' (Portrait of Suzanne Bloch, L) from Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and 'O lavrador de cafe' (Coffee Labourer) from Brazilian artist Candido Portinari, during a press conference at the Sao Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) in Sao Palo, Brazil, 09 January 2008.

The paintings were recovered on 08 January 2008 in Sao Paulo. Thieves broke into the museum in Sao Paulo, on 20 December 2007 and stole the paintings.
