Iran caught photoshopping missiles - update - entire missile test may be a sham

Media images of the latest Iranian missile test show that they have been photoshopped with at least 2 of them being fakes.

In a handout picture released on the news website of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, four long and medium range missiles rise into the air after being test-fired at an undisclosed location in the Iranian desert on July 9, 2008. Iran today test-fired a missile it said is capable of reaching Israel, angering the United States amid growing fears that the standoff over the contested Iranian nuclear drive could lead to war.

This looks like the same launches, taken from a video, note the differences between the two.

The third missile never took off, so they faked it instead. In the photo below you can see it still on the launch platform.

For some reason these dont look like Ballistic missiles. Why are they not launched vertically ? They seem to be off at an angle like as if they were merely rockets. Most ballistic missiles are launched vertically.

I think these are the smaller ones, there was one Ballistic missile fired off, and as you said, was vertical, funny that their track record for these is 75% launch success, one not firing, of what must have been a handpicked selection of missiles isn't a good look.

Things are going to escalate badly this time if the Israelis decide to attack Iran.

The current Iranians demonstration may just be a bluff as these things like they've been cobbled together at best and they barely work. While Israel has the Jerico 2 and 3 which are much much more sophisticated. But the current Government in Israel is desperately looking for a major military victory to rally the masses in Israel and the masses in Israel scare easily from Arab rhetoric. I just hope Israel doesnt do something "bold" and make things worse for the whole world but exercise restraint.

If there was a strike against Iran, the Iranians wont sit quiet and inevitably the Gulf will flare up driving the price of Oil up yet again. This will only cause global inflation to increase yet again from the rally we've already seen so far. I just hope Bush and his advisor's are lucid enough to understand the economic implications to the whole world and America from this posturing on both sides.

It gets worse!

According to Drudge the whole thing was a fake :)

I am looking forward to the article :)

Many of Iran's claims related to missile tests during "Great Prophet III" war games -- appear to be smoke and mirrors!

The missiles tested DID NOT not have 2,000-kilometer range, the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Saturday.

Iran DID NOT launch a Shahab-3 missile, able to reach Israel.

It was an older missile that was out of production, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE.

And a video showing what appeared to be many missiles being fired -- is actually one missile, filmed from different angles!

NYT's Bill Broad is planning to quote military insiders.
