Airbus A340-600 brakes tested to fail - tires explode and catch fire

Watch this amazing video of a laden Airbus being brake tested, and failing, with the tyres blowing out and catching fire. Note the slight panic from the pilot to "bring the stairs".

According to the comments this was a simple wheels test with blocked brakes at high speed V1 (150 MPH).

This was a Rejected take off test, your not supposed to put the fire out until a set period of time has past..(hence the time count) it's a certification test. Its meant to be left until the time has passed or the plane catches fire.. as in this case...

This is not the tires that are burning but the brakes that set fire to the rest, including carbon materials of the braking system. Every airplane builders are doing this. This is a validation process...

The plane was lightly damaged and repaired within four hours by the building staff for another test run that was this time successful.

I can certainly understand why the pilot was a little distressed.

The impressive thing was how the firefighter continued to go back under the plane after each tire explosion. Just as quick as he would run away, he turned around a came right back! That is heroic (or stupid) in my mind.
