Gaddafi's son has been killed. Maybe. Is this a gamechanger?

Things may be getting real for Gaddafi with the report that his son has been killed. Back in the 1980's the US dropped a bomb on his home and killed his daughter, after that he became a reformed man and stopped sponsoring terrorism. What will this killing do to him? Is this killing in fact true?

Although the report below is still unproven, the next article has been sort of confirmed

However, if true, he was wounded by a Libyan pilot BEFORE the Allied attack on Libya.

02:13 Almanara Media is confirming from trusted sources that Khamis Al Gaddafi has passed away on Sunday due to severe burn injuries he sustained a few days ago. The burns were caused when a fighter jet pilot performed a martyr mission and crashed his fighter jet into Gaddafi’s compound Baab Al Aziziyah.

Nato strike 'kills Saif al-Arab Gaddafi', Libya says

A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Gadaffi, a government spokesman has said. Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but he was unharmed. His son Saif al-Arab was killed, as well as three of his grandsons. Journalists say the building was extensively damaged and one unexploded bomb remains at the site.

Government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said the villa was attacked "with full power."

The attack resulted in the matyrdom of brother Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29 years old, and three of the leader's grandchildren. The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives, the leader himself is in good health, he wasn't harmed. This was a direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country.

Saif al-Arab was the youngest of Muammar Gaddafi six sons.

Is Saif al-Arab Gaddafi really dead?

On February 26, 2011 the United Nations Security Council issued Resolution 1970 which imposed a travel ban on Saif al-Arab but stopped short of imposing an asset freeze as it did with many other members of the Gaddafi family.

During the Libyan uprising, Saif al-Arab was sent by his father to the eastern part of Libya to put down the protests. Combat troops and military equipment were placed at his disposal. It was reported that he later defected to the rebel side along with the troops under his command, though this is unconfirmed.

On April 30, 2011, a Libyan government spokesman announced an air strike on Saif al-Arab's house had killed Saif al-Arab, along with three of Muamar Gaddafi's grandchildren. The government also claimed Muammar Gaddafi was there, but "escaped".

Members of the opposition centered in Benghazi have speculated that the Libyan government's claim of Saif's death was a tactic to gain sympathy

A guided government tour on Saturday showed a missile from a coalition airstrike in the house of Saif al-Arab el-Qaddafi, the youngest son of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, in Tripoli.

However the missile in the image is raising questions with military observers, it doesn't resemble anything they recognize. So the question remains if its a fake or not.

It doesn't seem to have any impact marks, or debris around it as if it landed there, it looks like its sitting on rubble, like it has been placed into position and that dirt has been smeared along the top side.

Apparently its a Concrete Bomb, ie: a bomb made out of concrete. Whats shown in the picture is the heart of the bomb itself, the giant piece of concrete.

Here is the full page on the Air Force site:

So basically it's just the concrete part of the bomb. Supposedly we are still dropping these bombs with the JDAM mod (a chuck of concrete free falling isn't going to be very accurate) so I'm guessing the other pieces were detached in the collision. It's a reasonale guess, here is the kit breakdown:

Also, a few more pictures of the munitions part of the BLU-109:
