Rod Haines, organiser of the New Year wild pig and feral cat hunt in Pine Creek, is hoping a new competition to kill off cane toads will go with a swing.
Sporting shooters will be descending on Pine Creek on New Year's Eve for the annual pig hunt and next year they could be joined by golfers with a grudge against invading toads.
Mr Haines says cane toad golf is the latest idea for dealing with unwelcome Top End pests.
"Humanely kill em in the freezer then we might set up a bit of a tee and see who can drive em the furthest down the park with a golf eight iron or whatever they use and in golf," he said.
